Collection: STABILIZED WOODS

Stabilized wood is a compound material from wood and acrylates that is exceedingly resistant and distortion-free.

For the production preferably soft or semi-hard, open-pored woods like spalted Beech, Amboyna burl, Walnut burl,... are saturated with NOVACURE resin (by using a vaccuum chamber) which will harden afterwards under the influene of heat.

By using pigmented acrylates the wood can also be stabilized in coloured fashion which might have outstanding effects on the basic material.

Stabilized woods can be treated similar to tropic hardwoods.

Burl eyes, ingrown bark pieces or small cracks can easily be filled up by using low viscosity cyanacrylates and wood dust.
